Agribank accompanies the National Press Award to write about “tam nong”

The first national journalism award writing about agriculture, farmers and rural areas in Vietnam in 2023 was launched in April 2023, the time to receive entries is November 15, 2023 and according to the plan of the General Council. The jury held the judging on November 28, 2023.

Also on the afternoon of November 28, 2023, the Steering Committee, Organizing Committee and Board of Judges met to agree and make the final decision on the results of the National Press Award on agriculture, farmers, rural Vietnam in 2023; The award ceremony is expected to be held in early December 2023.

According to the Organizing Committee, by the end of receiving entries, there were more than 2,700 works by thousands of professional and amateur authors, along with more than 100 press agencies nationwide. After many rounds of work and serious selection according to rules and regulations, 60 most worthy works have entered the final round. In particular, the Final Council will score to select the best works to award prizes.

The quality of the entries and works participating in the award are rich in quantity, diverse in genre, and creative in presentation style. Articles and works span many genres, from political commentary, reflection, reportage to criticism, published in print and electronic newspapers. Many articles are highly practical, inspired by current life, discovering typical factors and portraits of excellent Vietnamese farmers.

Some articles are imbued with human love and about the determination of farmers in the new era. Many articles demonstrate high theoretical and in-depth expertise in solving current agricultural, farmer, and rural issues. Many articles are on current hot topics of the agricultural industry such as ecological agriculture, circular economy, promoting chain links, and developing collective economy.

Through articles, works, and thematic series, it has contributed to changing the awareness of Party committees and authorities at all levels in implementing the construction of agriculture, farmers, and rural areas; At the same time, change the thinking of farmers in the new period of shifting from agricultural production thinking to agricultural economic thinking, integrating multiple values.

After more than 35 years of innovation, the country has changed a lot. Vietnamese agriculture has grown from a place of constant shortage to become one of the major agricultural exporters in the world. From grains of rice, cups of coffee to shrimp, Vietnamese fish are present in more than 190 markets around the world. Vietnamese farmers, from the image of “selling their face to the land, their back to the sky” now have a new mindset – being farmers in the integration era, civilized farmers. Vietnam’s countryside, from having only ridges and bamboo banks, has harmonized with the country through the new rural construction program to become more modern, into countryside worth living.

That’s why, in the Resolution of the 13th Congress of the Party, “ecological agriculture, modern rural areas, and civilized farmers” were identified as the goals for our country’s “three agricultural” cause in many years to come. To concretize that policy, the 5th Conference of the 13th Party Central Committee issued Resolution No. 19-NQ/TW on agriculture, farmers, and rural areas until 2030; Vision to 2045 with the goal of bringing Vietnam’s agriculture and rural areas to comprehensive development, farmers will increasingly have a prosperous and happier life.
