Exchange rate today (December 6): The domestic USD decreased slightly, the world is approaching the 104 mark

(TBTCO) – In the early morning of December 6, the State Bank (SBV) announced that the central exchange rate of Vietnam Dong decreased by 13 VND, currently at 23,926 VND/USD. On the world market, the USD Index reached 103.95, up 0.24% at 6:17 a.m. on December 6, Vietnam time.

Domestic market developments

* The reference exchange rate at the State Bank’s Buying – Selling Exchange decreased slightly, currently at: 23,400 VND/USD – 25,072 VND/USD.

* The Euro exchange rate at the SBV Buying – Selling Exchange decreased slightly, currently at: 24,646 VND/Euro – 27,240 VND/Euro.

The USD exchange rate on the free market this morning continued to increase compared to the previous session. In the Hanoi market, at 5:15 a.m., the USD traded (buying – selling) was around 24,632 – 24,672 VND/USD, down 7 VND/USD on the buying side and down 27 VND/USD on the selling side compared to previous trading session.

World market developments

The US Dollar Index (DXY) measuring greenback fluctuations with 6 major currencies (EUR, JPY, GBP, CAD, SEK, CHF) increased 0.24%, reaching 103.95.

The USD continued to increase despite newly released data showing that job opportunities in the US decreased in October, to the lowest level since the beginning of 2021.

The Euro closed the session down 0.5% to 1.0782 USD.

The British Pound fell 0.4%, currently at $1,258, while the Japanese Yen was stable. The AUD fell 1.03% to 0.6545 USD, after the Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) kept interest rates at a 12-year high of 4.35% on December 5./.
